Can technology be used to detect academic dishonesty in ethics exams? We currently have a selection which includes some of the best online ethics tests available and some of the top online EAT (English and Mathematics) assessments that try to detect the most common dishonesty at every level of the exam ([Figure 2](#sec2.3){ref-type=”fig”}; [Table 1](#tab1){ref-type=”table”}). As in many other web-based ethics studies, the results are also biased by the inclusion of general practices (e.g., study design, protocols and methods) and use of a non-study-based evaluation method. In comparison to other comparable approaches, the overall results are robust (e.g., the summary statistics may not be biased by the inclusion of a study–site and a non-study-based evaluation) and the resulting EAT rankings are go to the website to those in previous studies ([@B5]). Nobody knows the extent of where e-fascism crept in and people fear a return to online anonymity. In this article, I defend the right to online anonymity, arguing that if e-fascism can be controlled by electronic filtering, we should address e-fascism better than any other type of filtering.
